There are No Cats Saved in This Film

There’s a book on screenwriting called something like “Save the Cat!” which basically tells you how to write a script that will sell to Hollywood studios. The primary idea is that you have your protagonist save a cat or do some other honorable thing in the beginning of the film to endear him/her to the audience.

There are no cats saved in this film.

One woman at a screening told us that she contemplated lesbianism when she was first introduced to the male characters in One Night With You.

Perhaps the saving of a cat would help.

However, turned out she liked the film and the characters quite a lot in the end.

No Hollywood formulas here – but wait - that's good! You're at the Lake County Film Festival to see independent films gawdammit! (Which is pretty awesome of you, BTW - Thanks!) We really appreciate it and hope you'll come by and see One Night With You.

The filmmakers, husband and wife team Joe and Heather D'Augustine, will be present for all screenings of One Night With You. Hope to see you there.
